Types of Funeral Services

Our services include registration of death, the transferring of the deceased into our care, dressing of the body and the funeral arrangements with clergy, doctors, florists, cemetery, hearse, and funeral notices.

We believe every life is unique and every funeral should be too. The more the funeral is characteristic of the person, the more it helps with the grieving process.  It is also where members of the family and friends have a chance to say their final good bye.

  

Single or Dual Service

When choosing to have a service, you may choose from either a Single Service or a Dual Service.
A Single Service is when the service is held at one venue only, ie. a chaple, or graveside.
A Dual Service is when the service is held at any venue, followed by mourners attendance at the Cemetery/Crematorium.

Graveside Service

A Graveside Service is a service that is held in the cemetery at the grave site, with the option of the lowering into the grave to be done at the time of service.
Chairs, a marquee, and portable stereo system are all available for use.

Cremation Service

All cremations are held at Norwood Park Crematorium (the single Crematorium for Canberra, Queanbeyan and surrounding areas.)
A chaple is available for use at the Crematorium, and you are given the option of attending the commital of the coffin into the cremator.
You may also choose to have a Memorial in one of Norwood Park's various Memorial Gardens.

Church Service

A Church Service is a service that is held within a church of your choice. You may also have a specific Minister or Priest you wish to officiate the service.
A viewing can be held at the time of service, and options such as organists or bagpipers are available.

Developed by John Allison/Monkhouse,  we provide you with several ways in which to make your service more environmentally friendly, with options such as biodegradable coffins, and orders of service made from recycled paper.
